About
A food database you can actually verify.
FoodDataHub is built on one conviction: nutrition claims should be as checkable as the data behind them. No scraped labels, no brand marketing, no generated numbers.
Methodology
How the data works
Measured, not estimated
Every number on FoodDataHub comes from a USDA FoodData Central record. Nothing is estimated, interpolated, or filled in. If a nutrient was not measured for a food, it is shown as missing — never as zero or a guess.
Per 100g, always
All values are standardized to 100g of edible portion so foods can be compared directly. Typical serving sizes vary by country and habit; 100g does not. Where USDA provides household measures, we show them alongside, clearly derived from the per-100g value.
Traceable to the record
Each food page links to its exact FDC record — ID, data type, and retrieval date included. You can always verify a number against its original USDA source in one click.
Small database, verified
The database deliberately covers 30 core ingredients, each verified for completeness across 25 tracked nutrients. Expansion happens only after the same verification bar is met for each new food.

Source
All nutrition values are retrieved from USDA FoodData Central, maintained by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Individual food pages link to their specific records. USDA data reflects measured composition and varies naturally between samples and seasons.
